Fast scan times for anything up to 800dpi. Reasonably good colour reproduction (although Epson's still seem to have this one in the bag). Nice metal/aluminuim top and overall styling. Firewire and USBv2 intefaces.
Very slow slide and negative scan times especially with dust removal enabled. I have also experienced similar problems as Greg Lehey with regard to incorrect rotation of slides. It seems incredible that you cannot simply tell the scanner that you have...

It doesn't do the job I bought it for (scanning slides).
The scanner seems to be correctly built and capable of scanning some originals, noticably paper.
It is supplied with software that Canon acknowledge is broken. That doesn't stop them from advertising it, though they did refund my purchase price because they were not able to make it perform as advertised. See my review page at...
