Think of the U405 as a really inexpensive ultraportable or an incredibly svelte all-purpose machine. It's both.

Fusion design works well with the LED lights. Intel's latest technology. Internal optical drive with LabelFlash. 3GB RAM. Recharging USB ports. Affordable.

No HDMI. Battery life could be better.

A very nice machine overall. I think that anyone purchasing this machine for office work, web browsing, multimedia fun and/or light gaming would be really satisfied with it. The Toshiba Satellite U405 is a great value and I fully recommend it.

The notebook surface shows fingerprints easily. With integrated graphics, some games might not play. Too much bloatware. No HDMI or FireWire for multimedia mavens.
