Orange Vegas

Continuing its city-based naming convention, Orange now brings us the Vegas, complete with touchscreen.

Following popular convention, the four points on the navigation button are shortcuts to various services. Out of the box, these are contacts, inbox, SMS creation, music and profiles. I couldn't see a way to change the settings to a personal preference.

Orange Vegas review

Orange's entry-level touchscreen phone brings tap control to the masses

Low price ; Touchscreen operation ; Compact design ; MicroSD card support ; Music player and camera onboard

Small display and limited user interface ; Limited quality 1.3-megapixel camera ; Low quality music player performance ; No 3G connectivity ; Low internal user storage capacity ; Texting can be fiddly

The limitations of the Orange Vegas should, however, be taken in context of the low-cost price-tag. It provides a taster of fashionable touch control, albeit in a very limited way, and has few pretensions in the additional features department. Its...

Orange has fashioned a touchscreen mobile for the masses. But is it a bargain or a blunder?

The Vegas is small, cheap and cute, but the touch experience is severely underwhelming

Orange - Vegas

The Orange Vegas is a touchscreen handset coming in at less than £50. Now, anyone with half an eye on the market will realise that you don't get a touchscreen for under £50 without a few ...

As a low cost handset with few pretensions the Vegas is a reasonable effort. However, its poor battery life really lets it down.

Would you bet your last £50 on Orange's Vegas? We find out if this prepay budget touch-screen is worth a punt…

Pros Compact and cute design, bargain price and decent touch performance

Fiddly text input, below average camera and rough sounding music player

Touch-screen handsets don't come cheaper than the Vegas. A great 'my first touch-phone'.

Orange Vegas

With its compact design and touchscreen, the sub-£50 Vegas may tempt some punters to take a gamble – but its low-stakes features deal a very limited hand.

For touchscreens, the Vegas is the cheapest game in town, and with touch control the hottest mobile must-have, there’s bound to be interest from bargain-hunting buyers. The handset's attractively compact and mostly simple enough to use.

Orange Vegas

The Orange Vegas is a marketed as a compact touchscreen mobile, although with measurements of at 96.6 x 45 x 19mm, it's actually a fairly chunky device. Still, it's a good looking mobile, and is available in Pink, White and Black. This mobile phone...

This mobile phone flaunts a 60.96mm TFT resistive touchscreen display that showcases images, photos and wallpapers in 262,000 colours. Right below the touchscreen is a set of four keys, as well as a five-way navigation tool. It also comes with four...

Review: Orange Vegas

So, you are a Pay As You Go fan, you like the idea of a touchscreened phone, but you don't want to spend a fortune for it. Orange reckons its Vegas fits the bill nicely. And they are right.

Nor does the Vegas sport Wi-Fi or GPS. It is a dual band device with GPRS but not 3G, and its camera is very much below average at just 1.3 megapixels.
