Motorola Q review: Motorola Q

Editor's note: This review has been updated to include the results of our battery drain testing.

The Motorola Q9c offers a Windows Mobile 6 upgrade as well as GPS, Bluetooth, and EV-DO support. The smartphone also has a 1.3-megapixel camera; decent call quality; and solid messaging capabilities.

The extended battery adds an awkward and bulky bump to the back of the smartphone, and the keyboard is a bit stiff. The speakerphone produced some feedback, and performance can sometimes be sluggish.

Some design quirks aside, the Motorola Q9c for Sprint is a worthy upgrade to the original Q, adding GPS and more stable performance, among other things.

Motorola Q Smart Phone

Like the Razr before it, the Motorola Q clearly aims to make a fashion--and technophile--statement. Slim and stylish, this silver-hued PDA/phone is just 11.5mm thick--thinner than the Razr, and significantly more compact than competing smart phones...

Impressive slimline design Inexpensive for a PDA/phone

Doesn't include Office apps Navigation controls are hard to use

If you need a slimline, large-screened companion at a comparatively low price, the Q deserves consideration. But if looks and size aren't paramount, it may be worth the extra bucks to step up to another device, and gain more functionality

Motorola Q

This low-priced smartphone has high-end style and features.

Very thin. Excellent one-handed use. Great voice quality. Stereo music over Bluetooth.

A bit buggy. Multitasking can cause music to stutter. Expensive data plan. ; Watch the Motorola Q Video Review!

Motorola Q Cell Phone Review

Another Smartphone to look at, but this one stays skinny..

The Q isn't a perfect device, but as of right now there is no such thing as a perfect device. The Q is definitely something to take a look at; it has some great features including EV-DO, a QWERTY keyboard, and a very sleek, thin design. Sending...

Review: Motorola Q - A RAZR-Thin Communicator

The front of the Q holds the 320 x 240 pixel, 65,000 color TFT screen, which is nice and bright, although it gets easily smudged during phone use. Below that is a simple button layout that will be familiar to anyone who's used a cell phone before

With its slimmed down design and its impressive feature list, the Q is a beautifully made smartphone for people who want power, convenience, and style. The worse thing about it is that it makes the competitors look awfully bulky
