Motorola i1 (Boost)

Android finally goes push-to-talk with the Motorola i1, a touch screen slab that works with Boost's inexpensive prepaid plans.

Stellar plan pricing. Excellent call quality and reception. Loud speakerphone.

Glacial data speeds. Oddly stubborn touch screen. Outdated OS version.

Apps, Multimedia, and Conclusions A microSD card slot sits underneath the stiff battery cover, which releases with a small switch on the side; my 16GB SanDisk card worked fine. There's a non-standard 2.5mm headphone jack, though at least the handset...

Motorola i1 (Boost Mobile) review: Motorola i1 (Boost Mobile)

Prepaid phones usually consist of simple cell phones or normal feature phones, so we're always pleasantly surprised when a smartphone is made available for prepaid carriers. The Motorola i1 is one such handset--it's the first Google Android phone for...

The Motorola i1 has a responsive and intuitive capacitive touch screen, a rugged construction, and has decent call quality.

The Motorola i1 currently only has Android OS 1.5. Also, its photo quality is mediocre for a 5-megapixel camera.

Though it's far from the best Android phone, the Motorola i1 is a decent touch-screen smartphone for Boost Mobile customers.

Deeply ingrained into the minds of just about every consumer is this lingering notion that blue collar workers would naturally gravitate toward rugged styled handsets – most notably ones from Sprint-Nextel's lineup. Even though the niche is obviously...

Motorola i1 Reviewed

The Motorola i1 was the first Android push-to-talk phone on the market. Now we tell you what we think of its build quality, performance and our overall impressions of this tough phone.

The Motorola i1 is the perfect device for those who need a rugged Android phone with push-to-talk capabilities, but while it is a smartphone, it is not a multimedia powerhouse; a fact that is quite clear when you see the sub par video that the camera...

Motorola i1 -- Sprint/Nextel's push-to-talk Android phone

The Motorola i1 is neither big, nor bad, but it certainly fills a niche that many believe is dying off -- push-to-talk on the IDEN network. Applications and services from other carriers try to r...

When it is all said and done, I'm glad I got to spend some time with this phone, as it made me appreciate the current crop of Android speed demons that many of us take for granted. I'm just as glad that I'm done using this one, as the overall...

What's Good: First Android device for iDEN networks; decent camera for a mid-range device; durable. What's Bad: Doing anything data-related can be frustrating due to Nextel's slow iDEN network speeds.
