HTC Titan II review: Wrath of the Titan

HTC made quite a statement when it announced the original Titan in the summer of 2011. Its sequel is aiming to do so as well. After all, smartphones with 16MP camera sensors are a rare sight on any market. Launched at the same time as the attention...

4.7" 16M-color S-LCD capacitive touchscreen of WVGA resolution (480 x 800 pixels) ; Quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE support; tri-band 3G with HSDPA 14.4 Mbps and HSUPA 5.76Mbps ; LTE network connectivity ; Windows Phone 7.5 Mango OS ; 1.5GHz Qualcomm...

720p video recording does not do the massive camera sensor any justice ; WVGA resolution does not look that great on a screen this size ; Non-expandable storage ; No mass storage mode; Zune only file management and sync ; No Flash (or Silverlight)...

The HTC Titan II offers arguably the best hardware, found in a Windows Phone smartphone. Its 16MP camera unit and LTE network connectivity might even sway a few users away from devices, running on competing platforms. After all, Microsoft has been...

HTC Titan II review

Titan. It's a ballistic missile and one of Saturn's moons. The word also plays a huge role in Greek mythology and in normal use refers to something of

Camera is one of the best on the market ; Good performance ; Wonderful call and speaker quality ; Long battery life

Microsoft limits the display resolution to WVGA ; Thicker and bulkier than its predecessor

The Titan II improves upon its predecessor in performance and image quality, but it's difficult to justify the premium price tag when AT&T's giving away another solid WP handset for free.

HTC Titan 2 Review: Impressive Camera, Not So Impressive Screen

Walking the line between "phablet" and phone, the HTC Titan 2 ($199 with a new two-year AT&T contract as of April 18, 2012) is a monster-sized Windows Phone handset. We first encountered the Titan 2 at this year's CES, and back then we liked its...

LTE data speeds make downloads superfast ; Great picture-taking capabilities ; Roomy screen

Screen resolution could be better ; Windows Phone 7 still lacks crucial apps

With its excellent camera, the HTC Titan 2 is the perfect phone for mobile shutterbugs--provided that your hands are big enough to hold the phone comfortably.

HTC Titan II (AT&T)

The HTC Titan II is a good but not great Windows Phone, as its high-end camera doesn't perform up to expectations.

Massive screen. Fast LTE. Quality construction. Great voice quality. Windows Phone 7.5 is fun to use and works well.

Low screen resolution. Middling battery life. Missing many popular apps from other platforms.

Multimedia, Camera, and Conclusions This being a Windows Phone, there's no memory card slot, although you get 13.2 GB of free internal storage. Music tracks sounded clear through Plantronics BackBeat Go Bluetooth headphones ($99, 4 stars). Windows...

HTC Titan II review

The original HTC Titan came out last fall, offering some of the best hardware we'd ever seen running Windows Phone. But that was months ago. Nokia's Lumia 900 now leads the pack when it comes to...

Big, bright display ; Good battery life ; Fast, reliable LTE speeds

Too expensive given its competition ; Low-res display ; Windows Phone's app ecosystem is lacking

Whether you're sold on Windows Phone or not, there's a better option for AT&T customers

HTC Titan II (AT&T) review

The HTC Titan II is every bit true to its mythological namesake. If it were cheaper than the Nokia Lumia 900 , or if its rival didn't exist at all, it would be the biggest, baddest smartphone running Microsoft's operating system. It has agreeable...

With an arrestingly large 4.7-inch screen, 4G LTE, satisfying performance, and the highest-resolution camera ever on a U.S. smartphone, the HTC Titan II raises the bar for Windows Phone devices.

While an ultrasharp shooter sounds great, we're not sure about paying an extra $100 for the privilege. The phone's massive size could be an issue for smaller hands and the display wasn't as sharp as we'd like.

The HTC Titan II pushes the limit of just how big and capable a Windows smartphone can be. If it weren't for the lower-priced Nokia Lumia 900, the Titan II would be the greatest Windows Phone 7 handset to walk the earth.

HTC Titan II

Windows Phone 7 seems to all be about Nokia at the moment. Nokia Lumia this, Nokia Lumia that, but HTC is still making Windows Phone 7-powered handsets, and shouldn't be completely forgotten - or should it? Whether you want a device with such a big...

Big screen, fast processor, solid design, 16-megapixel camera

Not as good looking as HTC's own One series or Nokia Lumia 900

Whether you want a device with such a big screen will be a decision only you can make. The HTC Titan II certainly delivers one of those and if you think the Nokia Lumia 900 is big, this will seem even bigger.
