Plays DVDs easily, great picture, remote control easy to use.

Broke in 8 months, some DVDs did not play properly (subtitles missing).

Apex can't make TV's but they can make DVD Players

 

At my house our first DVD player was a Sony and it constantly had trouble reading discs and freezing up. My dad was very angry about it, but he didn't want to go out and buy another DVD player which might have the same problem. I got him this Apex...

It is a true progressive scan DVD player at a bargain price.

It doesn't have a zoom feature.

Beware, you get what you pay for

 

I bought this DVD player because of the price and the fact that it supported MP3 and progressive scan. At the time of purchase I did not have a HDTV. It plays cds and mp3s ok but it's slow to navigate through your 100 mp3s. Plays back DVDs ok but...

Price, lots of features

Quality control??

 

I was real excited about replacing my 2 year old Apex with a spiffy new progressive scan Apex ad-800. I ordered it from Amazon for 99 bucks. I installed it and connected everything and....no color.

Poor man's Porsche of DVDs?

 

What attracted me to buying this DVD player was the fact that I bought some cheap sorround speakers and I needed a DVD with a built in AC3 (Dolby Digital 5.1) and a DTS Decoder. Do not confuse models that state that they are DTS/Dolby Digital ready...
