Expertenbewertung von : Ben Russell (goodgearguide.com.au)
Sharp's BDHP20X is a mid-range Blu-ray player, delivering a reasonable array of functionality, along with a nifty feature or two. Lacking support for ...
1080/24p Blu-ray playback, quick start functionality
Lacks advanced audio features
Sharp's BDHP20X is well worth considering as an entry-level Blu-ray player, delivering a good selection of features for an affordable price.
Expertenbewertung von : Alex Jennings (cnet.com.au)
The Sharp BDHP20X is a fine HD performer for its money, but it lacks a few too many features for comfort.
1080p/24Hz output ; Quick start option ; HD picture quality ; HDMI 1.3 output
Lots of multimedia formats it won't play ; No Blu-ray 'resume ; No Profile 1.1 ; Disappointing DVD upscaling ; No DTS HD support
Conclusion The HP20X is a good price for a standalone Blu-ray deck -- especially one with an HDMI 1.3 output and a heaven-sent Quick Start function. But its lack of DTS HD, multimedia and especially Blu-ray Profile 1.1 support, together with its drab...

It's bad, stops, freezes in middle of movies, plays a movie then try playing it again it rejects it. i've updated the software to HE9071500 and ...same story, had the lens cleaned, still the same - buying another brand.

It *does* play BD-R or BD-RE but only single layer (25Gb) discs in BDAV format. Try Cyberlink PowerProducer 5 Ultra, or Ulead DVD Movie Factory 6, both support BDAV format. Cyberlink can import most video files, but not MKV container format. Use...
Good for DVD playback/upscaling (but only if DVD in pristine condition). Great quality for blu-ray playback. Flawless playback of BD-R or BD-RE in BDAV format
Cannot play audio CD's properly (lots of glitches). Occasional skipping on commercial blu-ray titles. Errors when playing back slightly scratched or damaged DVDs

I bought a cheap factory second model from ebay in Feb 09 for less than $200 (including warranty!) and could not be happier. At the end of the day it does the ONE important thing that a blu ray player should do: it plays 1080P in stunning, accurate,...
Fantastic Picture quality. 1080P is really that much better compared to DVD. Easy to use. Does what I wanted it to do
Ok, it can't play DivX and VCD. But so what? Thats not what I bought a 1080P player for ; OK, its a little slow. But that's a common fault of all blu ray players isn't it ; OK, it doesn't do picture in picture etc. But I could not care less really
