Looks the business & it's affordable

only records onto hard drive, disc is play only!

remote very cluttered

None as unreliable.

Lip sync often out. Pixel distortion and sound distortion often on recordings. Sometimes misses beginning of programmes on recording.

Easy to use, simple one touch recording and looks smart.

Deleting files requires quite a bit of button pressing.

Image and sound and recording quality excellent.

Remote arrow buttons a bit finicky to use. Response time to playback recordings a bit slow, compaired to the Humax. Doesn't allow resume play after coming out of playback menu, as the Humax does.

Networking via WiFi works well (incl. BBC iPlayer, YouTube & access to music and video on connected PC's) Tidy looks Very good picture quality from DVD, HDD and built-in Freeview HD tuners. Cheap Haven’t used Bluray or 3D functions.

Doesn't work properly: Refuses to turn off. Sometimes the HR650 continues to record well after program selected for recording has finished (2+ hour over-run needed manual intervention to stop recording). Sometimes shuts down then immediately restarts...
